Marion Gabou and Bertho Dessalines met in Louisville, Kentucky! Marion is from France and came to Louisville to participate in a semester abroad. Bertho was born and raised in Haiti and ended up living in Louisville for work and studies. They met each other through a mutual acquaintance and only spoke for ten minutes. The next day, Marion was asking for his number to the mutual acquaintance and Bertho was doing the exact same! They started texting and two days later were on their first date. From that day on they knew they had something special and became a couple.
They love road trips, skydiving, and cooking together. " He is the chef and I assist him." They also love listening to Kompa (Haitian music) and going to Kompa music concerts!
Bertho does not like surprises but LOVES to surprise Marion. They were engaged in a beautiful restaurant, Fontainbleau in Miami, Florida. He had everything prepared and everyone knew except her. He even planned to give his phone to a waiter so he could record everything. He prepared this for two days without her knowing. When he got on his knee and asked her to marry him she said "my heart stopped". Luckily she caught her breath and SAID YES!
They both really enjoy traveling and the tropics so Key West was the perfect destination to say I DO! Their tropical winter wedding was magical. The couple exchanged wedding vows oceanside at the stunning Pier House in front of friends and family. The wedding colors were a gorgeous mix of blue, dark pink and dark red. After the ceremony the guests enjoyed some great food and an epic Key West sunset.
The guests along with bride and groom danced the night away!
Congratulations to you and your families!
