Mary Beth Comerford and Matt Rogalsky swiped right! They lived in the same town, about two miles apart their whole lives, and it took Tinder to bring them together. He knew and played sports with her older brother, she was a cheerleader in school with his sister. Their mothers even carpooled the girls to pre-school together! After they met for the first time, he remembered her parents from so many years ago. She had zero memories of his sister having a brother though! Since they went to different high schools, they never ended up at the same parties, but as it turns out they do have a lot of friends in common! Mary Beth was shocked the first time she went to introduce him to her friends and they all knew him already.
It is a small world but they needed the randomness of the Internet to bring them together. They are goofy, adventurous, and opposites in so many ways which makes them the perfect couple and dog parents!
Matt proposed on Mary Beth's birthday a couple of years ago. He tricked her into thinking he was going to propose at the Keukenhof tulip gardens in Amsterdam the following week so she was completely surprised. He also made her think we were going to our favorite steak house so she dressed up a bit more than she normally would. Matt asked Mary Beth to go get a drink at their favorite bar since the "dinner reservation" was not until later that night. When they got there, they went right downstairs to the bar and it was completely empty. She feared for their business and was afraid they would be going under. It was 6p.m. on a Saturday and should have been packed or at least have more than just the employees milling about.
Since they were both dreadfully hungover, when he asked to go outside on the patio for some air, she thought he was going to be sick! Instead he had her look around, and she spotted several dozen long stem roses and a bucket of champagne on ice in the corner. When she opened her birthday card to read it, she looked up and he was down on one knee! (the card said "Happy Birthday my love, turn around for one more surprise"). There was hugging and laughing and champagne and so so much happiness.
But it doesn't end there...
Since it was April and pretty cold, they did not last long outside. When they walked back inside, she was completely taken aback that 50 of their closest friends and family were inside waiting. Turns out they had been tailgating in the parking lot waiting for them to go outside. After Mary Beth's nervous system recouped, they partied and celebrated all night!
"Proposing at our local watering hole to anyone else may not seem that special, but to me it was perfect in every way and I am so touched and grateful to be marrying a man like this!"
Mary Beth's parents have a house in the Florida Keys and since the island feels like home to this couple, they decided on a Key West wedding! The wedding day was filled with unforgettable detail from start to finish. The couple opted for a private First Look in the gardens of the Audubon House followed by a trolley safari Around Key West with their wedding party for some fun photos! The ceremony took place oceanside at the exclusive Margaritaville Resort & Marina where the couple were married by the bride's brother. Cocktail hour immediately followed the ceremony on the sunset deck. The Junkanoos escorted guests across the street to the gorgeous Audubon House. The reception venue was a vintage glam inspired tropical fairytale! The garden was filled with love, laughter, and happily ever after.
Congratulations to you and your families!
