It was love at first site for Labriska Ligon when she laid eyes on Jason Humphrey. They met at a party among mutual friends. Jason started a conversation with Labriska at the card table. They spent the entire night flirtatiously talking about music and the philosophy of life. This conversation was the first of many between the two of them. Jason took Labriska and the group of friends to an old abandoned home built in the late 1800s. The eerily beautiful home was ravaged by time. The floors and the roof were nearly falling in. Despite the danger, they were restless teens seeking adventure, facing fears, and taking risks. When Labriska hesitated to go into the dark and creepy basement Jason swiftly picked her up into his arms so she would not be left alone. In his arms all of her fears disappeared and she suddenly felt safe. While holding each other for the first time they felt a connection that was much more than just a physical or chemical attraction. It was a serendipitous moment that they both believe is only possible when the stars are aligned just right. This strong connection would leave them both searching for reconnection over the next few months. A few months later when they finally reconnected they became inseparable. They were High school sweethearts even though they went to different high schools. Their love would prevail distance, time, and all odds.
Through the journey of their twenty three year relationship Jason’s friends and family have now become Labriska’s and vice versa. They have two amazing sons ( Chase & Jagen) that complete their circle of love. Labriska and Jason made their strong relationship “official” during one of the craziest years of all time. Even COVID could not keep these two from saying their I Do's in a beautiful Kentucky field of wild flowers under an open air chapel.
The wedding day was filled with love, laughter, and a very happily ever after...
