Rachel’s Guide to Key West’s Best Happy Hours

While Key West is arguably a 24/7 happy hour, many local establishments do offer food and drink specials during that magical time between lunch and dinner. So whether you’re going to the Conch Republic for your own wedding or a loved one’s, here’s a list of my favorite happy hours in Key West to help make your visit extra joyous!

Kelly's Caribbean Bar/Grill & Brewery

The birthplace Pan American World Airways and now owned by actress Kelly McGillis, Kelly's lush patio is the perfect setting for happy hour! The drink specials' prices are jaw-dropping for Key West: $2.00 for their own microbrews and $3.50 for margaritas! The $5.95 appetizer specials are fantastic, too. I highly recommend the wings, which come with your choice of sauce.

Hours: 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Santiago’s Bodega

Santiago's is one of my favorite restaurants here in Key West! The romantic atmosphere, incredible international inspired tapas, and wonderful sangria are even better during happy hour, when a menu of $5 appetizers is available and bottles of wine and sangria pitchers are $10 off! Furthermore, wine and sangria by the glass, as well as draft and bottled beer, are half off!

Hours: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Alonzo’s Oyster Bar

Alonzo's seafood is legendary, and their happy hour is legendary, too. All their appetizers and drinks are at a discounted price. It's one of Key West's best deals. I advise trying to get there right at 4:00pm. Also keep in mind that due to its popularity, happy hour ends on the dot! The drink you order at 6:01 pm will be full price! All good things must end, I suppose.

Hours: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Bagatelle

Bagatelle is in a lovely historic house on Duval and offers an equally lovely happy hour! Drinks are half price, including some very tasty cocktails, and the $5 appetizers are out of this world! Try the tuna tartare, pork tacos, potstickers - or my personal favorite - the lobster mac and cheese! The portion is enough for a full meal, and you'll simultaneously feel all grown up and like a kid again.

Hours: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Southernmost Beach Cafe

Literally on the beach, Southernmost Beach Cafe is a casual joint by day and a fancier restaurant by night. In between, they offer 25% off appetizers and some great drink specials. Don't miss their specialty, the coconut shrimp, which comes with a scrumptious pineapple dipping sauce!

Hours: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Sundays through Thursdays

Turtle Kraals

Located on Key West's waterfront, Turtle Kraals has a great happy hour with half off well drinks, bottled and draft beers, and house wines. Also, there are a lot of options for discounted food, including seafood such as calamari and oysters, as well as my personal favorite, the Deep Dish Nachos. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, you can hang around a bit after happy hour to catch what Turtle Kraals is really famous for: turtle races!

Hours: 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Conch Republic Seafood Company

Formerly known as the Conch Farm or Boathouse, this restaurant offers some of the best happy hour drink specials: 2 for 1 beer, premium well drinks, and house wine! The deals are only available at the bar or on the patio, but you'll still be able to soak in views of the historic Key West Bight.

Hours: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Vinos

Right on Duval, Vinos is a charming and friendly wine shop. It offers an amazing selection of wines from all over the world, but until 7:00 pm you can enjoy a glass of their red or white sangria for only $5! Salute! Don't forget to pair it with one of their tasty cheese plates!

Hours: till 7:00 pm

Late Night at Virigilio's

A trendy cocktail lounge tucked away just off Duval, Virgilio's is famously the home of Key West's longest-running drink promotion: Martini Mondays. On Mondays after 7:00 pm, martinis are just $5! But no matter what night of the week you're there, you can get wonderful Italian fare, salads, flatbreads, and more from the late night menu after 10:30 pm thanks to its sister establishment, La Trattoria

Hours: 10:30 pm - close
